Pit Spaces and Storage

A summary of the club rules and the agreement members accept when they reserve. This page is not legal advice.

This summarizes the current Pit Space Use Agreement and race rules IV and V. The names there are Pit Space, Trailer Storage, Garage, and Storage bays. A pit space is the race-day reservation. Trailer storage, a garage, and a storage bay are the storage choices. An older 2025-26 document was written as a lease. It is not the current wording, and its fees are not listed here. A personal race trailer may be kept only at the member's risk. No security is provided, and HCKC assumes no liability for the trailer or its contents.

Current fees are shown in Alpha at reservation. Prices are not listed here. Online registration counts as acceptance of the agreement.

Do not pay unless you qualify
Do not pay for a space unless you know which renewal you qualify for. If you did not qualify — the race minimum was not met, or for another reason — do not purchase. Contact an HCKC board member or a member of the Pit Space and Storage Committee. You must qualify to renew. See race rules IV and V. Current fees are shown in Alpha at reservation, not on this site. An earlier notice also said not to pay until the club had told you by email, text, or at the track, and had set the permission on your account.
Choose one
Choose one: a pit space, a garage space, or a storage space. The storage rule also describes keeping a personal race trailer in a reserved pit space or an allocated storage bay, in addition to the pit fee. Alpha is where that choice and the current fee are confirmed.
North cul-de-sac
Spaces N01–N09 are in the north side cul-de-sac. On the pit map they are labeled N1–N9, on the registration side: N2–N5 and N6–N9 in two groups, with N1 below them.
Eligibility
A holder has to be an active member and attend or participate in at least six races a year as a racer or vendor. The same attendance rule applies to storage. Limit one pit space or garage per household or member. The right to use it cannot be transferred. Letting the membership lapse releases the pit space. Vendors may not reserve stalls 1–24, along the grid, tower, and scales. They use a mapped vendor area.
Term
Race-day pit spaces run no more than three consecutive nights. In the race rules that reservation is due July 1 and is valid through June 30 of the following year. The Use Agreement describes a one-year term from purchase, at a location the board designates. The fee is paid in advance online. The member has to stay in good standing and keep paying pit stall fees and any penalties.
Race Day and storage
A pit space is the race-day reservation. Trailer storage in a reserved pit space, and a trailer in an allocated storage bay, may hold a member's personal race trailer at the member's risk. No security is provided, and HCKC assumes no liability. On race days the trailer and other property have to come off the property if the member is not there as a racer or vendor. For a Saturday race, that window is Friday through Sunday.
Temporary relocation
The Use Agreement allows HCKC to require a temporary relocation for events, with 30 days' written notice. Refusing to cooperate is a breach.
Third-party lease
Pit spaces and storage are not available while HCKC property is leased to a third party. Member property and trailers have to be removed for that time.
First Right of Refusal
A member who gives up a space for missing the attendance requirement goes on the First Right of Refusal list after they meet it again. The list is not open to a member who lost storage because of a violation.
Violations
The rules set $500 per offense. A third offense also loses pit and storage privileges. The member cannot register for events until the balance is paid.
Pit Space & Storage Committee
Enforcement is by a three-person Pit Space & Storage Committee appointed by the board. The agreement does not publish a direct address. Contact a board member or a committee member through the club contact page.
Flood zone
The Use Agreement gives no warranty of suitability, security, or protection from theft, flooding, or weather. It states that the premises are in a designated flood zone.
No overnight accommodation
The permitted use is storage of karts and related equipment, and access for track practice. Overnight accommodation is not allowed.
Electricity and HVAC
Electricity may be used only while the member is present. HVAC is not allowed.
Care of the space
Keep the space clean, remove trash, and return it in its original condition. The member may not assign or sublet the space, and may store only their own equipment.
Default, renewal, and the waiting list
Non-payment, loss of membership, or any violation allows HCKC to end the reservation immediately. The agreement provides no refunds. Renewal depends on availability, HCKC's discretion, and continued eligibility. A space that is not renewed goes to the waiting list.
Regional events
Regional events are not included. Kartoberfest is an example.
Acceptance
The provider in the Use Agreement is HCKC, Inc., a Texas corporation, 3838 Loop 337, New Braunfels, TX 78130. The member indemnifies HCKC, except for HCKC's gross negligence or willful misconduct. The agreement calls for binding AAA arbitration and Texas law. Online registration counts as acceptance. Agreeing in Alpha is that acceptance. This summary is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for the text shown at reservation.

The published rulebook is the August 15, 2026 PDF, sections IV and V. This page summarizes that text and the Use Agreement. It is not a substitute for the text you accept in Alpha, and it is not legal advice.
