Racing in the hills
Club racing is the starting point for competition. It is an amazing family sport, and it takes commitment from both kids and parents. HCKC's mission is supporting youth racing first and foremost.
The track
- Layout
- Several layouts, clockwise and counterclockwise. Up to 10 turns, about two stories of elevation.
- Length
- Half a mile of textured concrete. The back straight is 525 feet.
- Location
- 3838 South Loop 337, New Braunfels, TX 78130. Half a mile north of IH-35 exit 184.
- Facilities
- Three grandstands. Pits 1–50, north cul-de-sac N1–N9, and garages G1–G4.
- History
- Racing since the 1960s. The current track opened in 1987. Annual awards since 1987. IKF champions.
All ages
A competition kart is not a toy.
This is real motorsport. Race karts have no suspension, sit inches off the ground, and run wheel to wheel under a rulebook. Many professional drivers started in karts, and a lot of racers never leave.
Adults race here too.
If you have always wanted to race, a competition kart gives you the same grip, braking, and racecraft as bigger forms of racing, like a Radical sports prototype, for a fraction of the cost. There are adult classes, including Masters for drivers 32 and up.

Kids and parents work as a team. Start with how the club introduces families to racing.
Classes
Karting can start as young as 5. Kid Kart is attained age 5–8. Every posted age is on the classes page.
Come watch
Spectator admission is $10. A race day is the easiest way to see if this sport fits your family.
